WhatsApp or a co-parenting app?

A messaging app and an organisation tool do different jobs. You can quite happily use both.

Messaging, for talking

WhatsApp is handy for asking a question and getting a quick answer. But to find an old decision, you have to scroll back, find the right message and check nothing has changed since.

An organisation tool, for finding things

A calendar stores dates, an expense tracker stores amounts, a document space stores files. Parentello brings these together around your children.

Set a simple rule

Decide where you confirm changes, where you keep documents and how you reach each other in an emergency. This rule matters as much as the tool you choose. Neither a messaging app nor a co-parenting app is an emergency channel: if you are in danger in France, call 17 or 112, or text 114. In cases of violence, the 3919 helpline listens and gives guidance outside emergencies, and the family court judge can issue a protection order (ordonnance de protection).

Your questions

Do I need to import all my conversations?

No. Start with what is coming up.

How can I compare in practice?

Time yourself: how long does it take to find a date and a receipt with your current set-up? Then run the same test with the other tool.
